This is what has been keeping me so busy lately. I am doing some restoration work on an original 16th century "Black and White" armour for a customer.
Some of the parts of the suit are badly damaged or missing so I am making some replacement pieces from scratch.
This photo shows a few details of a buff (face and chin armour) that I have made and antiqued to match the existing burgonet (helmet).

VERY convincing!! I did think it was a museum piece since I first saw this photo some time ago. Only now that I could read the description. If not that, I would still think it was an original piece! (except for the leather, obviously)

Very impressive work, I can scarcely imagine the effort needed to match a new piece with an original.
How did you make the rose washer? Have you stamped it out with a specialized tool (as the Greenwich armoury), or with a series of different tools?
Pardon my english, I am not very accustomed to use the appropriate words for armouring in other languages than swedish.
